San Antonio-based songwriter Jared Putnam has reached a career milestone in a mere five years that most artists never achieve. Culled from three LP and five EP releases (amidst his funrun of 80’s-era cover songs earlier this year), Putnam’s project The March Divide made a 12-song singles compilation available to Noisetrade subscribers on Oct. 18^th, and now Five Years of The March Divide: The Singles 2013-2017 is available on all of the usual streaming services, as well. Another track that appears on Five Years of The March Divide: The Singles 2013-2017 is actually the artist’s latest single. “Cherry Bomb” is taken from “Don’t Let Me Die In Arizona,” the latest EP by The March Divide, released Aug. 4^th, 2017.

Putnam says, “I’ve had this song for a number of years, and after talking with my producer ​​Mike Major (At The Drive-In, ​​Coheed and Cambria) about the direction of the EP, I knew it fit the mold. Though the songs for ‘Don’t Let Me Die In Arizona’ came first, we wanted it to feel like they were built around percussion. This approach is something I’ve been working on, so I initially made some very quick demos that ​​Mike progra​m​med percussion to. ‘​Cherry Bomb’ was the first song he sent back, and I remember thinking, ‘Holy shit, he did it!’”
