Moon Darling – In The Press
“A fluid, controlled strain of psych rock. Tweaks your
nostalgia ganglia for Stone Roses’
more subdued moments.” — The Stranger
(Seattle)
“Reminiscent of the bewitching psych rock of the 70s; Escobar’s vocals coupled with the
groovy guitar riff make for an infectious tune that won’t leave your head. The
steady bassline as well as Nuño’s
percussive expertise act as the sprinkles on top of this fantastic teaser for
their 2018 EP.” — Tom Tom Mag
“Gently hallucinogenic.” — The Revue

About Moon Darling
The fierce fretwork of Michael Julian Escobar on the upcoming Moon Darling EP “By The
Light of The Moon” (Jan. 26th,
2018) is matched by his Madison
Square Garden-level vocals, and Moon
Darling’s compelling presentation doesn't stop there.
The not-so-hidden ace here is likely drummer, Michelle Nuño, as heard in the EP's
title track, premiered via Tom Tom Mag, the publication
with the tag line: “Drummers | Music | Feminism.”
Not to belabor the concept that a rock band of men
with a female drummer is merely “interesting,” because what’s actually
interesting here is Nuño’s drumming
itself. Her playing is truly accompaniment - the songs on “By The Light of The Moon” would not be the same without Nuño’s contributions.
Rounding out Moon
Darling’s sound is bass guitarist, Jack
Jay laying down sneaky, winding, and always in the pocket lines, along with
keyboardist, Matthew Buckner.
One of Seattle’s most respected and embedded music
journalists, Dave Segal, previously
described Moon Darling for venerable
local weekly The Stranger by saying
that the band plays “a fluid, controlled strain of psych rock” that “tweaks
your nostalgia ganglia for Stone Roses’
more subdued moments.”
“By The Light of The Moon,” the latest from Seattle-based band, Moon Darling arrives on Jan. 26th, 2018 preceded by
the EP’s title track, streaming now. Members of Moon Darling are available for interviews. Contact Josh Bloom at Fanatic for more information.
