Columbus, Ohio-band Red Wanting Blue wrapped up the fall leg of its “From The Vanishing Point” tour with a
sold-out show at the 1300-capacity House
of Blues in Cleveland last Friday.
Following a quick stop this past Sunday in West Virginia to tape an
episode of NPR’s “Mountain Stage” program with Dr. Dog headlining, the band now heads
to Canada for the first time for a series of shows supporting Canadian band The Trews.

Blue will wrap up 2012 with a New
Year’s Eve show at The Kent Stage in
Kent, OH before heading to the west coast for the winter leg of the “From The Vanishing Point” tour which
will culminate with a headlining appearance at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on March 9th, 2013. This follows the band’s
second voyage on The Rock Boat
cruise, which this year also features Brandi
Carlile, Good Old War, Scars On 45 and more.
Meanwhile, the session for Daytrotter that the band taped in September has
now debuted and a music video for the latest Red Wanting Blue single “Stay
On The Bright Side” (shot on a day off from tour in Queens this summer) has
also been
premiered via Paste. The single itself is available as a free
download now via Rolling Stone.
Since the release of the From The Vanishing Point album
in January, 2012, Red Wanting Blue
has seen a steady increase in attention being paid to the sound that band
leader Scott Terry has been bringing
to America for over a decade. With an
appearance on David Letterman, to a sold-out
show at the 1300-capacity House of Blues
in Cleveland, to a Top 10 debut on the Billboard
“Heatseekers” chart, Red Wanting Blue’s
story is a textbook case of local boys making good.
