The High Water Marks | “Fantastic
Machine”
[VIDEO]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmk429rOUqw Proclaimer
of Things is the second
full-length in less than two years from The High Water Marks, following a (too
long!) 12-year hiatus. The Norway-based band fronted by Hilarie Sidney, the co-founder of the Elephant 6 Recording Co. and one of its core bands The Apples In Stereo, maintains and
extends the high-energy fantastic fuzz of those sounds. Under The Radarpremiered
the video for one the album’s most popular songs “Fantastic Machine” earlier this year, a song the band says, “is just
a little bit of the things that make you sick. It’s about the fantastic machine
that is the social media, a monster that we created without realizing it.” Now, the work of The
High Water Marks continues, as the band is currently close to completion of
its third “comeback” album. Bratset says, “We've got some great riffs and some real
bangers. Some of these songs were actually recorded in-person for the first
time ever, so that was kind of a big deal. It will be our third record in three
years, so obviously the chemistry is right.... or we don't like uncomfortable
silences!” Sidney offers her perspective in haiku form: This brand new album Full of sonic hooks and joy Happiness abounds +++ The High Water Marks Proclaimer
