to the full set from Red Wanting Blue’s recent live
appearance on NPR’s “Mountain Stage” program!
Columbus, Ohio-based band rock band Red Wanting Blue launches its
nationwide “Dime-Store Circus” tour
in Des Moines, IA tonight at Vaudeville
Mews. By the end of the run in
Denver at the Bluebird Theater on
December 19th, the band will have been supporting its current album From
The Vanishing Point for the better part of two years. The record, which debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s “Heatseekers” chart, is the
band’s best-selling album to date, and has helped see the group go from
relative obscurity to sold-out shows at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Lincoln
Hall in Chicago, and the Bowery
Ballroom in NYC.
In that time, Red
Wanting Blue also sailed on The Rock
Boat cruise for the second time (in the company of Brandi Carlile, NEEDTOBREATHE
and Good Old War), made its network television debut
on “The Late Show with David Letterman,”
appeared on VH1’s “Big
Morning Buzz Live,” taped a session for Daytrotter,
and received press attention from Rolling
Stone, MTV, Paste, and more. Late last
year, Red Wanting Blue recorded a
set for NPR’s heralded “Mountain Stage”
program, which recently aired nationally and is now
streaming via the NPR website.
Band leader Scott
Terry recently spent time chatting with
touring industry bible Pollstar
about the band’s long journey (he founded Red
Wanting Blue in the 1990’s while still in college), and dropping some
details about the next Red Wanting Blue
album. The upcoming, as-yet-untitled record is once again produced by Jamie Candiloro (REM, Ryan Adams) and is
tentatively set to arrive in the first half of 2014. Read the in-depth
interview here.
In the meantime, Red
Wanting Blue will be doing what the band does best. See below for a complete tour itinerary
including dates with fellow Rock Boat-ers
Will Hoge and Swear and Shake. Scott Terry of Red Wanting Blue is available for interviews. Contact Josh Bloom
at Fanatic for more information.
