Seven years ago, NYC-based singer-songwriter David Bronson began work on a 22-song autobiographical breakup record collectively titled The Long Lost Story. The second half of that work, Story, is now available at long last (its prequel The Long Lost will be released in the near future.)

Music blog Higher Plains says that “Times,” the album’s first single, “sets you up for the fantasticalness that is David Bronson” with the Taken By Sound site claiming the album is “one of the most unexpected musical gems that I’ve managed to stumble across this year.”

Sonically, Bronson’s Cat Stevens-esque vocals have a plaintive humility, and an emotionally rich, melodic, resonance. His style as a guitarist stems from an upbringing spent dissecting the spidery playing of Jerry Garcia and the classic rock exoticism of Jimmy Page.

“In middle school, I would pick apart Zeppelin songs start to finish and eventually began improvising over them.” Bronson also became a fan of the sound of the records themselves. “Individual producers became as influential to me as artists,” he says, citing favorite sonic auteurs like Daniel Lanois, Jeff Lynne, Nigel Godrich, Brian Eno, and Phil Spector.

In addition to his solo work, Bronson has composed instrumental, ambient soundscapes for filmmaker Jennifer Elster’s “In The Woods,” the first installment of Elster’s upcoming film series entitled “The Being Experience.” The project is an unflinching look at existence, featuring a cast of actors, thinkers, and musicians including Dave Matthews, Moby, Questlove, Rufus Wainwright, and Yoko Ono among many others.

David Bronson’s Story and the album’s first single and video for “Times” are all available now.  David Bronson is available for interviews.  Contact Josh Bloom at Fanatic for more information.

“Mallman’s ‘70s-redolent music could be huge...” – Pitchfork

“It’s a noir battlefield of car crashes and lightning strikes. It’s about being too sad for words,” Mark Mallman says of his new album Double Silhouette, set for release on October 9th.  Dark themes not-withstanding, the album is led by an incredibly catchy single, the title track “Double Silhouette” which was recently premiered by American Songwriter and is available for free download now.  Mallman will embark on a two-week tour in support of the album in mid-October, kicked off by a hometown record release show at the Ritz Theater in Minneapolis on October 13th.

Double Silhouette is Mallman’s latest example of drawing a line between insanity and genius.  It’s a ritual that he has built a career on, and it has has earned him opening spots on stages with artists as diverse as Green Day, Cat Power and Guided By Voices to name just a few.  Additionally, Mallman’s songs have found their way to the airwaves of MTV, VH1, NPR, and dozens of major motion picture trailers and video games.  His work has been written about in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Time Out New York, etc., and Mallman is also a featured contributor to the “Music Theory for Dummies” series alongside Bob Moog, John Cage and Andrew Bird.

Despite this substantial and credible resume, Mallman has also been characterized throughout his career as a madman, though in actuality, he’s a mad genius.  This fact is no better exemplified than in Mallman’s signature “Marathon” events, the latest of which took place in September and saw him performing a 150-hour-long song non-stop (even in his sleep!) from the back of a van traveling from NYC to LA. The event was covered by Wired, USA Today, NBC News 4 New York and many more.

Mark Mallman’s new album Double Silhouette will be released October 9th.  The title track is streaming and available for download now.  Mark Mallman is available for interviews. Contact Josh Bloom at Fanatic for more information.

“Best mashup artist out there.” – The Hidden Playlist

Emerging from the mashup scene that produced Girl Talk, The Hood Internet and others, New Hampshire’s Ethan Ward aka E-603 has been creating a nostalgic, yet original, blend of music made from samples since 2002.

Following the recent free download release of his third mash-up album SMOKESHOW (featuring the single “Bang Bang” which perfectly utilizes “We Got The Beat” by The Go-Go’s), Ward has released an album of remixes appropriately titled The Remixes Vol. 1, also available for free download HERE.

The album features E-603 takes on hits by Robyn, Miguel, Ellie Goulding and more, in addition to a remix of Passion Pit’s “Seaweed Song” which recently debuted at Earmilk and hit the Hype Machine remix charts. Another featured track from The Remixes Vol. 1 is the E-603 remix of Two Door Cinema Club’s “What You Know,” streaming HERE. This track will also appear on the next E-603 release, a live album scheduled to go up for free download on October 3rd.

With this upcoming live release, Ward is giving fans that have wanted a keepsake of the E-603 live experience exactly what they’ve asked for. Recorded live in NYC, the set sees E-603 going from one musical style to another, using the mixing and mashing techniques that have established him as a master of the genre.

Utilizing samples from as many as fifteen songs at once, and ultimately constructing some of the most elaborate electronic songs out there, E-603’s production style is more wholly musical than that of his peers. Often including his own instrumentation paired with his unprecedented, superfast cut and paste aesthetic, Ward’s signature style has helped his SMOKESHOW album to net more than 50,000 downloads in 2012.

E-603’s mashup album SMOKESHOW and remix album The Remixes Vol 1 are both available for free download now. E-603’s upcoming live album will be available on October 3rd. Ward has also been producing his own wholly original, non-sample-based music that varies in content from Daft Punk-style French House to Southern-style Trap Hip-Hop slammers.

Ethan Ward aka E-603 is available for interviews.  Contact Josh Bloom at Fanatic for more information.
