Fine Dutch label Excelsior Recordings announces SXSW showcase featuring Hospital Bombers, Do-The-Undo and Alamo Race Track.

New Hospital Bombers album set for US release in May -- New Yorkers and Chicagoans can catch the band live this week.

Amsterdam’s Hospital Bombers keep it short and sweet. From its tunes to its bio. These three boys and a girl claim to play “stadium folk,” utilizing vocals, guitar, violin, philicorda, bassguitar, and drums. They know only three chords. They do not know where you can buy weed around here. They all love peanut butter, The Velvet Underground and The Mountain Goats (the band’s name is also the title of a Goats tune.) The band’s first EP, Satan’s Fingers, was released in 2006, and the group’s new album (which may have been titled Maybe We Will Have World Peace, or You Will Never Hear Surf Music Again, or Will You Look At All That Water? but is actually titled Footnotes) is out in the US on May 13th, 2008 on Holland’s premier indie label Excelsior Recordings.

The label will present several of its Amsterdam-based artists including Hospital Bombers, Do-The-Undo (the band’s self-titled album is out now, with a follow-up scheduled for October, 2008) and Alamo Race Track (STREAM) whose upcoming performance has already been singled out by the Austin Chronicle – “Come for the quirky, gravely folk of Black Cat John Brown but stay for the versatile indie rock” (LINK).

New Yorkers and Chicagoans who won’t be attending Austin’s yearly festivities can catch Hospital Bombers this week starting tonight with a performace at Lit Lounge. See below for complete dates and SXSW showcase lineup.
